Dominica Reviews

Dominica is a small island in the Southern Caribbean. It is sometimes confused with the Dominica Republic. It is not a well know tourist destination but it offers great eco-tourism in an unspoiled and uncrowded atmosphere. There are some great natural sites to see and contrast the calm Caribbean side of the island with the rough Atlantic side. A great, friendly and safe place to travel, especially if you want to try something a little different.

Fort Young Hotel

Built from the old fort guarding Roseau, Dominica's capital is the Fort Young Hotel. Nestled at the edge of the cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea - cradled in the beauty of Dominica's mountainous landscape, is the Fort Young Hotel, Dominica's premier Hotel. The Fort Young Hotel is ideally suited to both the business and the leisure traveller. 53 Guest Rooms and suites, fully air-conditioned and with ceiling fans, direct dial telephones, Cable TV, terrace/ balcony. Our old world charm comes from the combination of unique architecture, rich history and courteous staff. With the completion of the renovations, this has been augmented with luxury, style and convenience unsurpassed.

Layou River Hotel

Located in the interior of the island, this hotel is situated right on the Layou River. A great place to stop for a cool drink during a tour but I wouldn't stay here.

Reigate Hall

Reigate Hall is one of Dominica's most stylish hotel and is nestled on a mountainside high above the capital city of Roseau. Named after a village in England this quaint, charming hotel was once a manor house. The large belvedere-like courtyard affords a magnificent view of the capital city of Roseau and the Caribbean. This hotel is very isolated and you cannot walk to town from here. You must take a long, winding road up and down the mountain which can be inconvenient and harrowing. It is beautiful, modern, clean and very private. The restaurant is tops. Just don't expect any nightlife or even cable tv.
